The annual Islamic terror threat started early (or late depending on your perspective) this year, with an American flight no less claiming its first attack since the fabled Richard Reid incident. And true to American war theatrics, the culprit conveniently seems to encapsulate all the prospective threats outlined by the US.
The Spin
The ‘suspect’ claims to be linked to an extremist group. This may turn out to be a hitherto unknown group that the US has been tracking for a while – giving us the impression that the US knows where the threats are and possibly giving rise to military intervention.
The explosives apparently came from Yemen, an area that has received an inordinate amount of attention in recent weeks. In fact, the air strike that allegedly targeted an Al Qaida meeting was coordinated by the US so the interest in the region is documented.
What next?
As with all American war theatrics the truth may never be known, the first casualty of war is after all truth – but one thing we know, whether true or containing a semblance of truth, the incident will be used to further repress Muslims, justify destruction, loss of life and occupation.
The Solution
One theme has been dominant since 9/11 – foreign policy. As long as America and her allies interfere in Muslim lands, occupy Muslim lands, oppress Muslims and support the same, then those willing to stand against domination and brutality will no doubt continue. It is simply naive to expect other than that. Millions have marched in support of the end of war, it seems the ordinary man and woman knows the solution to this quagmire – when will the politicians listen?
Smell a Rat?
Flashback:
AMSTERDAM – Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport Tuesday introduced a new security scan that sees through clothes, the first airport in the world to use the system, officials said.
The scan outlines body contours, making it easy for security personnel to see if anyone is carrying weapons or smuggling money or drugs.
Airport authorities said the scan was quicker and better than body searches.
To ensure privacy, the images from the scan are analysed by a security attendant in a separate room. The face of the person is also blurred to avoid recognition.
Schiphol put two such scanning machines into operation Tuesday and another 15 are set to follow. For the present, passengers can choose between the body scan or regular controls, which sometimes include being frisked. Source
How pray tell did our suspect get anything ’suspicious’ on board?

Do you so readily believe everything you read or hear, or is it just easier when it comes to Muslims and Islam?
